NASA's Space Science Education Resources Directory - a convenient way to find many NASA-developed space science products, activities, and materials for use in classrooms, science museums, planetariums, and other settings. Searchable by subject or grade level
Astronomical Society of the Pacific - Contains resource lists, bibliographies, and links covering several different areas including countering pseudo-science, women in astronomy and environment issues, and many more.
SETI Institute - Contains eductional materials related to the search for life in the universe and related sciences. Includes an interactive game "Who's Out There?" where students search for ET.
EM Spectrum A well-written, illustrated introduction to the electromagnetic spectrum suitable for students, grades 6-12. Examples from daily life as well as from outer space are provided.
Decoding
Starlight
A set of four activities on stellar spectra. Activities include building a spectroscope, understanding temperature and pressure, and making an HR diagram. Activities are suitable for middle or high school integrated science, astronomy, chemistry and physics classes. Developed by Mary Kay Hemenway and Brad Armosky, University of Texas, Austin, where the SOFIA instrument, EXES is being developed.
Space Kids A space science web site geared toward kids. The site contains lots of information on the solar system and many interactive activities for kids. There is also a teacher's resources page with additional links to other educational resources.
NASA for Kids A NASA web site for kids with information on NASA projects as well as space science and astronomy. Also a good resource for other NASA web site for kids.
IPAC An infrared web site with tutorials and an extensive image gallery on infrared astronomy.
Cool Cosmos A web site on infrared astronomy. Has lessons explaining infrared astronomy for kids as well as a history of infrared astronomy. Be sure to check out the video Infrared- More Than Your Eyes Can See.
