SOFIA in the News

"It has been a long and difficult road for SOFIA, but its 100-inch (2.5-meter) telescope finally opened its penetrating eye in late May. The flying observatory will make about half a dozen science flights this year, and should reach its full operations of 100 per year by 2014."
