Ames Research Center Visitor Badge Information
The following are procedures to obtain a temporary visitor
badge at NASA Ames Research Center while visiting the USRA-SOFIA Project.
The procedures apply to anyone wishing to spend any time at NASA Ames,
on the USRA-SOFIA Project, for less than three months.
All contacts and required forms should be submitted
to:
Contact Hilary by phone or fax at least
five working days prior to your visit. You will need to provide the following
information:
Full Name
Affiliation
Dates of Visit
Purpose of Visit
Pick up the badge at the Visitor Badge Office, by the main
entrance to Ames, Bldg. 26. The Visitor Badge Office will photograph you
and issue you a temporary visitor badge.
IMPORTANT: You must bring your original driver's license or other legitimate identification with you in order to be
issued your badge.
FOREIGN NATIONALS
Fax a completed International Visitor Information Sheet to Hilary at least thirty (30) working days before your visit. You must submit this form each time you visit Ames. Please bring your original passport and visa with you to the badging office when you arrive at NASA Ames.
Visitors from "designated countries" should submit these forms at least seventy (70) working days before the planned dates of visit. Sufficient lead-time is especially important if you come from a designated country. The list of restricted countries changes but currently includes Libya, India, Pakistan, North Korea, China, Israel, Iran, and Iraq. Click here for a list of current designated countries. (PDF file)
Unless explicitly approved for unescorted access to NASA Ames, foreign nationals must be escorted at all times by a permanently badged US Citizen or Permanent Resident. At no time are foreign nationals to be unescorted, nor are they to be escorted by another foreign national or temporarily badged visitor. If you would like to request unescorted access, please contact Hilary for the necessary forms and procedures.
