Göran Sandell is an observational astronomer with extensive (sub)millimeter and infra-red experience. He is a calibration and data reduction specialist. At SOFIA he has worked on many aspects of the observatory. He is in charge of calibration for SOFIA, and also a member of the Herschel Calibration Steering Group. He is the USRA instrument scientist for GREAT.
Göran Sandell has very broad research interests including the interstellar medium, star formation and late type stars. Most of his current research projects focus on circumstellar disks and understanding the formation and evolution of high- and intermediate-mass stars.
