Ralph is a Research Scientist with the Space Science Institute (Boulder, CO) working on contract for the SOFIA Science Center. Currently Ralph is working with the Information Systems Development team to develop and deploy the Data Cycle System which provides SOFIA investigators and operations staff with tools for submitting proposals, planning observations, and pipelining and archiving science data.

Ralph's primary research interests are infrared observations of star formation in clustered environments (e.g. Orion) and especially the effect of high-mass star formation on nearby solar-mass protostars. He has also dabbled a bit in observational studies of gas and dust grain chemistry in interstellar and circumstellar environments. Ralph also enjoys teaching: He has served as a part-time lecturer at both the University of California, Santa Cruz and Foothill College.
