Meeting

This June there will be a Meeting-in-a-Meeting during the 242nd gathering of the American Astronomical Society (AAS) in Albuquerque, NM entitled, "Standing on the Wings of SOFIA.” This event will be a forum to discuss key results from SOFIA’s decade-long mission, with topics ranging from the Solar System to distant galaxies, and will explore how the SOFIA legacy can provide a foundation for the FIR Probe concepts currently under development in response to the recommendations by the 2020 Decadal Survey.

Mid and Far-IR Observations: Leveraging Science across the Spectrum

The SOFIA Archival Research Program (SARP) is now open for proposals to fund research projects primarily using SOFIA data. The purpose of this program is to encourage the use of available SOFIA archival data and to realize the full potential of the SOFIA archive. In this webinar we will present the mechanics of the open funding call, and highlight a selection of public datasets.

This webinar will describe through concrete examples how to evaluate the quality of FORCAST imaging products, how to identify typical artifacts which may affect images and what are possible solutions to perform the most accurate data analysis.
