The advent of ALMA has brought fresh new insights to a wide range of research fields. This includes understanding formation and evolution of normal star forming galaxies at very high redshifts. Here I present a survey called ALPINE - ALMA Large Program to Investigate [CII] at Early Times. ALPINE obtained band-7 (0.8-1.1mm) observations of 118 galaxies at z ~ 4 - 6. I will discuss a subset of science results from the analyses of spectroscopic and continuum maps. This includes kinematic properties of some bright [CII] emitters, [CII] luminosity functions as well as the implications of gas mass densities at z ~ 4 - 6.
